Venus moves into the mutable water sign of Pisces today. Preceded by Mercury a couple of days ago, Venus now makes her presence felt by softening everything she touches and creating beauty in this space.

Venus is the planet of love, beauty and pleasure. Venus seeks connection, intimacy and relationship.

Pisces is sensitive, intuitive, imaginative and caring with an innate understanding of selflessness and sacrifice.

Venus in Pisces creates an aura which can feel otherworldly, drawing us in to the lure of fantasy.

Whilst Venus is in Pisces for the next few weeks our perception of love or the perfect partner may be more idealistic than realistic. We could find ourselves secretly yearning for the fairy tale romance or a knight in shining armor to come along and sweep us off our feet. We may not want to admit it, but the chivalry of the past may not seem so absurd or passe.

There is also the possibility that we may find deep connection with someone which feels right timed and fated. We may find “our person” during this transit.

Venus does encompass all the mushiness of love and feelings of euphoria when in love but there is also a flip side. Venus becomes witness to our heartbreak and betrayal. When in Pisces, we may be less likely to confront our relationship issues and choose denial instead. We need to be careful that the measures we take to avoid whatever is too painful to face are not going to lead us into retreat or isolation where our perception of love can become jaded.

Venus in Pisces also knows sacrifice. The choices we willingly make for love can either leave us full-hearted or heart broken. Unconditional love requires a level of vulnerability which can either be matched by another for deeper connection or used against us to deeply wound.

Venus also represents our finances. During this transit the thought of money management or paying attention to what we spend is nowhere near as appealing as the pleasure a good shopping spree brings. Burying our head in the sand so we can worry about it all another day may seem like the better option. Hopefully the buzz won’t wear off too quickly.
