Uranus direct in taurus

4th February @ 1:34pm Melbourne, 2:34am London; 3rd February @ 6:34pm San Francisco, 9:34pm Toronto

Today Uranus turns direct and will begin the last leg of its journey through Taurus, bringing a sense of stability to a landscape of change.

Uranus has the ability to destabilise anything it touches which can knock us off kilter in the process. Its energy is erratic, disruptive and difficult to rein in, but it’s not all bad. The revolutionary spirit of Uranus demands freedom from oppression, change to outdated governance and will balk at the systematic use of control or concepts of normality. Uranus is the brilliant, atypical mind whose thought processes lead to ground breaking invention and innovation.

Taurus on the other hand has a slow methodical way of being and doing. The determination attributed to Taurus is unwavering and resolute. “Savouring the moment” could be its mantra and speaks volumes as to how “the Bull” chooses to engage with the world at large. Change is resisted until the reasoning behind it can be justified or makes sense.

Uranus first moved into this fixed earth sign in May 2018 and for almost 8 years, Uranus has been required to operate under a cloak of Taurean influence. Has Uranus worn it well or has it had to distort itself into something that doesn’t quite fit?

During this transit we may have experienced change in different ways. It may have been something that we were able to instigate ourselves by recognizing that our current situation was no longer practical or sustainable, making change inevitable and necessary for progress. Or, we may have been blind-sided by unexpected or sudden change, leaving us in a state of shock and disorientation.

Over the course of this Uranus transit, we may have felt a strong impulse to stand up against injustice, in resistance against oppression or be filled with an overwhelming need to make some kind of difference in our lives and beyond. We may have had an urge to break open “the box” and create our own reality or rip the blinkers from our eyes to see beyond our current conditioning and concepts.

Whilst Uranus has been in Taurus, it was the retrograde periods which gave us some respite. These were pockets of time where we could pause, take a step back and try to integrate what we may have been dealing with. It gave us a chance to find solid ground again, stabilize our mind and body in readiness for the next move forward. We could tap into our inner resolve, strengthen our stance before having to ride the next wave of change.

Uranus energy is electric and likened to a lightning bolt. Taurus has provided the conduit by which this energy has had to pass through, lowering the voltage to a level where shock or harm could be minimalised. Taurus has been the layer of security and comfort gently draped over our discomfort. When in a state of exhaustion, it brought us back down to earth for recovery. Taurus is the voice that calls out oppression and screams in the face of intolerance. Taurus recognizes beauty and knows where the final touches are needed to create a work of art. Taurus helps Uranus orchestrate revolution.

So, as we emerge from this last retrograde period, we can look back over the past 8 years and recognize what we’ve changed, how we’ve changed and why we’ve changed. As we ride out these last few weeks of Uranus in Taurus, we can prepare ourselves for another chapter in the Uranian book of our lives.
