SUN IN VIRGO
23rd August 2025 @ 6:34am Melbourne, 22nd August @ 9:34pm London, 1:34pm San Francisco
As the Sun moves from the fixed fire sign of Leo into the mutable earth sign of Virgo, there is quite a shift in energy. If everything about Leo energy is bright and vibrant, the energy that Virgo brings into focus for the next month will feel more grounded, subtle and composed.
Virgo, ruled by Mercury, has the ability to cut through all the dross and hone in on what is relevant and important.
Those born under the sign of Virgo are discerning, clever, fair and kind. Their communication style is subtle but powerful. They may not bang the door down to get their point across but if asked for their opinion, they will be succinct and to the point. They have a sharp, dry wit which can catch others off guard. Not interested in hearsay, they prefer to put theory into practice in an effort to prove to themselves that what is being prophesized is in fact true and correct.
Virgos understand the relevance of hard work and are methodical in their approach. They are the classic “quiet achiever” as they would much rather have their work speak for them, than sing their own praises. They often prefer to work behind the scenes rather than fight for the spotlight. They strive to fulfil their obligations and may not always recognise when enough is enough and know when to move on. Many Virgos will excel in careers of service and care. I’ve known so many Virgos who are nurses where they use their efficient, empathetic modus operandi to support and care for others.
Those born with their Sun in Virgo are quite self-sufficient. They don’t often ask for help, preferring to just get on with it and do what needs to be done themselves. They can be fastidious, judgemental and critical which comes from a need to get things done right. Perfectionism can be the thorn in their side that either compels them to keep going or that binds them into a repetitive cycle of dissatisfaction. Virgos don’t always acknowledge their achievements but will always recognise where and how they could have done better. Their calm façade can hide a tendency to worry and fuss.
Virgos are generally insular, preferring to keep to themselves to avoid social burn-out. They need their quiet, down time to recharge so they can be ready to “people” again. They are in fact quite happy and content in their own company. For them, being alone doesn’t necessarily mean being lonely.
So, for the next few weeks, whilst the Sun is in Virgo it can bring into focus issues associated with health and the obligations that we engage in daily. It’s a time to pay attention to the habits and the routines we’ve established, affirm their purpose and decide if they are still useful and relevant. Do they make our life easier? Do they still make sense? Do they get a little boring at times? Do they keep us bogged down in the mundane?
Sometimes we may cling to what is familiar to maintain a sense of control. It can also be true that the unremarkable tasks of our everyday routines can provide a sense of comfort and order in times of chaos and stress.
Whilst the Sun is in Virgo it’s a good time to:
· Take a closer look at the schedules or routines that keep your everday organised and humming along to see if any improvements can be made
· Cast a discerning eye over any binding contracts, agreements, documentation to ensure their relevance
· Take some time to acknowledge and appreciate what you’ve endured or achieved over the past twelve months.
· Analyse your work structure, methods and obligations to see if they still provide the same level of satisfaction as before
· Implement practices where you can be kinder and less critical or judgemental (of yourself and others)
· Decide whether your current habits are constructive or destructive in nature.
· Where improvements can be made to alleviate stress or chaos in your life.
· Adopt a healthier approach and mindset to take better care of yourself.
